Galápagos
In the Galápagos, the strongest feeling was not how many animals I had seen, but how gently nature placed humans to the side. Marine iguanas, frigatebirds, blue-footed boobies, sea lions, and flamingos each occupied their own rocks, water, and wind, while we seemed only to be passing through. Standing between coast and volcano, I began to understand that travel changes us not only through what we see, but through the slow, unfamiliar environments that teach us to rethink time, nature, and ourselves.
